My mother-in-law bought this for me in hopes of making my two-week, six airplane trip a little easier for myself and my 13-month old. Seeing as how my husband wasn't going on the trip with us, I was responsible for putting together and taking apart this contraption each and every time.

First, we have the Evenflo Triumph Deluxe carseat and even though it says it is compatible with this carseat, they had the wrong directions in the package! So there I was, thinking that I must be an idiot because I couldn't figure out how to attach it to the carseat when in fact, the directions were completely wrong! And trust me - it makes a difference!

Second, while I was fortunate enough that my airport was able to wand search the carseat with this attached, it was THE BIGGEST headache to put on and take off. It definitely takes two hands to do - and so traveling alone with a toddler makes this quite a task. You definitely cannot use this stroller attachment if you are traveling by yourself.

Third, like others have posted, most carseats don't fit down the aisle of an airplane, so I was left trying to juggle a toddler, a carseat, this contraption, and my carry-on. Thank goodness the airplane staff were kind enough to tote my carseat to my row for me and travelers behind us weren't annoyed!

So, all in all, if you're traveling with someone else who can watch your child while you take the necessary 10 minutes to put this on and take it off, it won't be that bad. If you're doing it alone - do NOT use this product! Also, it's a bit flimsy - my daughter's carseat (with her in it!) fell over three times with this attached. Blech!

I just returned from a trip during which I used the travelmate. My primary reason for purchasing this was that I wanted to use my own car seat in the rental car instead of having to rely on a car seat whose history I didn't know. I also didn't want to travel with a baby in my lap and he needed a car seat in the plane. I was very nervous about traveling alone with a 10 month old, but this contraption made getting the baby from the parking lot to the airport, around the airport and on to the plane very easy.

I had this attached to the Britax roundabout. I had to buy a car seat for our second car anyway and chose to buy the roundabout primarily because it fit this trolley perfectly. I went to the baby superstore store with a list of "compatible" car seats from the product's website and could not figure out how they were supposed to work with this. (I spent quite a while with the directions book and some of the other car seats at the store.) So a word of caution about other car seats -- I hope that you can understand directions better than I can to make the other seats work...

I was able to use this with the Britax to pull my son easily and quickly around the airport by both pulling and pushing. Security in Boston was OK since the car seat with the travelmate attached fit through the scanner; security at the destination was a little more difficult as they had to search it by hand when it wouldn't fit through any of their scanners; but they didn't make me take it apart.

The trolley with this car seat fit down the aisle of the airplane perfectly, and I chose to keep everything together when I put him in the airplane seat. (I strongly suspect this is NOT recommended) The seatbelt was a little difficult to get through and pull tight, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of taking everything apart and putting it back together again with people waiting to get off the plane. He was very secure in the seat and had plenty of wiggle room. When we got to our destination, I was able to get off the plane quickly and with some patience was able to disconnect everything and get the car seat installed in the rental car.

I agree with the people who expressed concern about the handle. it was a little wobbly, and at times released when I wasn't expecting it to, like when I was carrying it off the shuttle bus.

I am so glad that I used this. All aspects of traveling were made so much easier with this contraption. It also brought smiles to people who saw a baby being pulled around in it.

My reason for not giving it more stars was the fact that I couldn't find other car seats that really seemed to fit this -- and I spent quite a while looking.

This product was great for transporting our heavy Britax carseat and also for keeping my son in it while we waited in line to check - in etc. It's kind of a pain to screw and unscrew it on and off when you go through security but that is the only pain in the butt. It's a good product and much cheaper than the sit and stroll which we purchased and didn't like at all.

These wheels attached easily to our Britax Boulevard. It made our trip easy since we had one for each of our children (ages 2 and 9 months) and we were able to just wheel them through the airport! We have used these a few times and some airlines have skinnier aisles than others. A word of advice would be to always pre-board if you will be using the seats on the plane. That way if the seat doesn't fit down the aisle you will be able to make a couple of trips (one for the child and one for the seat). Otherwise most airlines will allow you to check the seat at the gate. These make it so simple to bring your car seats with you on trips. (You won't have to worry about the seat being abused if checked with the baggage, and you won't have to worry about renting one at your destination). I will be using these every time we travel!

I purchased this for a recent plane trip with my 18-month old. I was deciding between this product and the CARES harness. I'm glad I decided on buying this product instead of the harness since I think the flight went much smoother with my son in a carseat. I had an extra seat for him and he behaved well in the carseat. I think if he had been in the harness he would have found a way to wiggle out of it, and I also don't think it would have been nearly as comfortable as his carseat.

This also made it easy to get around in the airport - the wheels glide effortlessly, and I love the fact that the pull handle can adjust to different heights (since I am short and my husband is tall).

The wheels are easily removed which was great since it meant that I didn't have to remove the whole thing from the carseat to put it in the plane. I just popped the wheels off and strapped the carseat onto the plane. However even with the wheels off it did not fit in any x-ray machine at security, so I had them hand check it (which only took 2 minutes).

Overall I would highly recommend this for any parent who decides to take their carseat with them on the plane.

When I first purchased this product I was very excited about using it and imagined traveling with ease through the airport. After about six trips using GoGo Kidz with my Britax Decathlon it has turned more into anxiety than pleasure getting to my destination.

I attach it to my carseat to get through check-in and over to security which seems pretty durable holding a 30 lb toddler. The handle feels a bit flimsy at times but it always holds up. It is not very difficult to put together but in a panic I have almost lost a screw once or twice. This would hardly be an issue if once it was attached to the carseat it could stay that way from point A to B but I have to assemble it about three times by the time we've landed.

I have found that it does not fit through any aiport x-ray where I've traveled and security has never allowed a wand search. This leaves me trying to disassemble it with a toddler in one arm and angry passengers in line behind me.

Once through security it needs to be assembled again which is then useful to wheel over to the gate. It does not fit down the aisle of the plane on my Britax so I need to lift it over the rows which is not easy at 5'2". I find that if I don't want to take the wheels off AGAIN then the Decathlon requires a seat belt extension to be secured. After landing I usually end carrying the seat with a sleeping toddler over the rows again to exit which is not an easy task for me. After wheeling our way out of the aiport I take off GoGo Kidz to put the carseat in a car and we've made it.

Good concept but if only it was designed to fit through x-ray it might make it that much more useful but next trip I think I'll use a stroller and check the carseat.

This is the best thing since sliced bread. I don't have a car but still need a car seat for the occasional cab or airplane ride. It's a bit challenging to install as my car seat was not listed in the compatability chart. I was still able to attach it and I'm very happy with it. The best thing for parents on the go. Now I can easily take my child shopping without having to wrestle her out of the car seat.

On the recommendation of numerous parents on a parenting list-serv I subscribe to, I purchased this to use on vacation. It was a lifesaver! Well worth the price. Our 10 month old loved rolling through the airport in his carseat. This product comes with various adaptors for different carseats, don't be alarmed when you open the box and see all the different parts! We have a Britax Roundabout, so we didn't need any of the adapaptors for non-Britax brands. It takes a mintue to figure out how to screw on this device with the two long screws, but once you've done it a couple of times, you can take it off and put it back on in about one minute.

Different airports have different sized x-ray machines. At one airport (Denver), we only needed to pop off the wheels to put it through the machine, and they pop off in a second with a simple clip. In Seattle, we tried that, but it wouldn't fit. We elected to request a hand-inspection rather than detatch the entire thing, which was a mistake. It took much longer for them to summon a supervisor and do the hand inspection than it would have taken to detach and reattach the whole thing.

Boarding the aircraft, we did detach it entirely then carried the seat onto the plane and strapped it in, and put the GoGo Kidz in the overhead bin. Disembarking, while we waited for everyone else to get off the plane, we reattached it (with the baby in the seat, which is easy to do!) then rolled seat and baby off the plane. It was a tight fit down the aisle, but we squeezed by.

We originally purchased this at the same time as a Britax Marathon, but we had to return that seat because it was too big for our car. I later learned that the Marathon won't fit in most coach airline seats, so it worked out for the best!

It looks like the resale value of the GoGo Kidz is pretty high, and in our neighborhood they are in such demand that people ask to RENT them from friends and neighbors who have them. We plan to sell ours in a few years when we no longer need it, and recoup some of the cost. But I'm not renting ours out, it's too valuable to us to risk having someone else lose it!

The reviews seem to be mixed for this item. Parents with Britax Marathon carseats are the happiest while everyone else is disappointed. I have a Marathon and this cart worked great with it. I found the initial installation easy (less than 10 minutes) and dismantling it takes 30 seconds. With the wheels on, it didn't fit in any xray machine however most TSA agents were willing to take a wand to it so I didn't need to dismantle. My 3 year old enjoyed being wheeled through the airport and many people admired it. I had no difficulty installing the carseat with the wheels attached to the airline seat. Plane aisles are too narrow to wheel the seat through.

The cart was sturdy enough for my 28 lb 3 year old. I felt the construction was sound. The manufacturer says it's safe for kids up to 50 lbs. I found the manual easy to understand but clearly this item was made for Britax carseats. I can see how some parents might find it confusing to attach the carseat to the cart with straps rather than a plastic bracket (Britax only).

The $80 price may turn off many parents but I think it's a fair price considering the alternative is buying a separate $250 sit n stroll or an aching body. Another reviewer commented on the handle not locking well. I did not have a problem with mine. Being petite and 7 months pregnant, this cart made travelling with a toddler much easier and less stressful.

This replaced a sit & stroll that I had and was unimpressed with. This was exactly what I needed for travel with my 18 mo. old! It received many oohs and ahhs from others in the airport. She loved strolling in her car seat. Assembly was simple with my Britax car seat, construction was sturdy and we had no trouble going through security in our local airport or in Orlando's airport (in both airports they scanned it like a wheelchair so we did not have to disassemble it). I checked it at the gate, so I didn't have to try to carry it down the airplane aisle or fit it into an airline seat.

  1. GoGo Babyz Kidz travelmate. We had the same problem on our recent international journey with this product. Does not fit down economy aisles, even on the 747sj. Result - You have to carry the car seat and the GoGoKidz trolley over your head as you walk 30+ rows (while trying not to knock out other passengers who raced on the airplane during pre-boarding.
Second, in economy, it was not possible to attach the car seat w/GoGoKidz attached in a rear facing position. Well, you could attach it, but the person in front of us would have been screwed - as it meant their seat could not recline at all for the duration of the flight. Resulted in us moving to plan B: Detach the GoGoKidz and hand it to the flight flight crew to check through.
Sweating and exhausted before the flight begain, checked both the car seat and the GoGoKidz.
Royal pain in the butt and a big disappointment.
